Grounding 101-Learning Grounding Basics

Please use this page as a starting point in your studies of grounding.  There is a lot of information available on this topic, and much of the spiritual path is finding what is true to your own heart. Incorporate what you feel comfortable with.  Most importantly, learn as much as you can, and  always be true to what feels right for yourself. 

 

Grounding is the awareness of the here and now. It is the connection to earth and to our own physical bodies. It helps us to make the bridge between the Spiritual world and the physical world that we live in. 

 

Here are a few of the things a person may experience when he or she is not grounded:

bulletdifficulty in concentrating-may fall asleep while meditating
bulletheadaches
bulletfrequent static shocks
bulletweight gain
bulletanxiety-feeling jumpy
bulletdizziness

These symptoms may be linked to other physical ailments. If you are in doubt, always see the appropriate medical professional. Reiki and other forms of energy healing are not intended to replace care under a doctor. 

 

 

How to become more Grounded

Eat something solid-usually something with protein. There are some who use a small amount of chocolate when they need to feel grounded.

Go barefoot in the grass

Hug a tree, Take a walk, Work in the garden.

Gems and Minerals carried in your pocket-Particularly hematite, smokey quartz, bloodstone, etc... There are many different varieties of stones that will work.

Firmly plant your feet on the floor/ground and visualize:  Close your eyes and imagine that your feet grow roots and connect far into the ground. Feel the ground and your connection to the earth.
